Scorching Abadan to offer vivid contrast for visitors

TEHRAN – Abadan is about to embark on a groundbreaking venture with the construction of a snow park.

It would be the first-ever snow park to open in Khuzestan province, aimed at elevating Abadan tourism while providing residents with a novel recreational facility, announced the mayor of Abadan on Sunday.

 Yasin Kavehpour stated that the project has been approved by the city’s Council and will proceed according to legal procedures.

“With an initial estimated cost of two trillion rials [about $3.3 million dollars],” the mayor further detailed. “The snow park is set to enhance tourism infrastructure in Abadan and potentially become a significant tourist attraction in the region.”

Kavehpour emphasized that the park’s construction aims to provide recreational destination for Abadan residents, marking a milestone as the first snow park of its kind in Khuzestan province.

He also highlighted the importance of strengthening the tourism infrastructure in Abadan, considering it as a major tourist destination in Iran.

According to the mayor, negotiations with domestic investors are underway to ensure proper funding and adherence to necessary standards for the project.

Moreover, Kavehpour expressed optimism regarding the swift implementation of investment measures and emphasized the profitability of tourism investments in the city.

“Abadan is known to attract many domestic and international tourists, particularly from neighboring Iraq,” he further elaborated. “Making it an ideal destination for investors in the tourism sector.”

Specifying location of the project, the mayor brought to light that the park will cover an area of 2,000 square meters within the current amusement park in Abadan.

Additionally, Kavehpour mentioned three other upcoming projects in the tourism and recreational sector, including the construction of a water park along the banks of the Bahmanshir River, a new and modern amusement park, and a tropical bird park within the city.
